MIT’s Technology Review and Cyber Media have entered an agreement to launch Indian editions of the EmTech (Emerging Technologies) Conference and Technology Review magazine.
“We met with several excellent potential partners and went through a rigorous selection process. It was a difficult decision, but given Cyber Media’s decades of experience in technology publishing, they were the clear choice in the end. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership.” says Jason Pontin, editor in chief and publisher, Technology Review.
The launch of EmTech India, the technology conference for corporate leaders, is planned for early 2009. The Indian edition of Technology Review will be introduced at the conference and then published monthly.
“We are excited at the prospect of introducing the conference and the publication to the Indian technology community. This will be the 16th media offering for us, expanding our existing presence in the technology sector. MIT’s Technology Review brings the best and latest developments on emerging technologies that have the power of transforming the Indian technology sector.” says Pradeep Gupta, chairman, Cyber Media Group.
“With economic growth and technology deployment rapidly expanding in India, now is an ideal time to extend the Technology Review brand to this influential region,” says Pontin.
This will be the first time an EmTech Conference will be held away from MIT and outside the United States. The relationship with Cyber Media marks the fifth deal for an international edition signed in recent years by Technology Review.
“Technological innovation remains a driver of future economic growth for industries worldwide. Leaders around the globe will continue to demand authoritative information on emerging technologies and their impact. As we continue to expand our presence into new markets, we keep this demand in mind and strive to deliver the most relevant information on technologies that are reaching commercialization.” says Kathleen Kennedy, chief strategy officer, Technology Review.
“As India continues its stride to become a knowledge powerhouse, the impact of emerging technologies will be felt far and wide. The conference will benefit not only India but also the entire Asian corporate community. We look forward to making EmTech the premier technology event in the entire region.” says Pankaj Nath, senior vice-president, Cyber Media.
“Bringing together these two great media companies has been an extremely enriching and rewarding experience,” says Chander Rai, president and CEO, Cross Border Media.
